Tewkesbury Medieval Festival Photoshoot

Each year battle re-enactors stage a recreation of the Battle of Tewkesbury. This year the DVJ will be there to document visitors and participants at this event. Contact has been made with the organisers who are more than happy for us to attend and take photos. All that is asked is that we donate generously to help fund this event.

11am - Festival opens.
11:45am - Mayors Party, with Colchester Watch arrives.
12 noon - Official opening by festival patron, actor and historian Robert Hardy, outside the public information tent, next to the Black Bear Banner.
12 noon - Archery competition for re-enactors, in the amphitheatre on Windmill Hill.
3:15pm - Troops start to muster for battle.
4pm - Battle re-enactment.
The photoshoot will include a walk through Tewkesbury to the Medieval Festival, a tour of the authentic Yorkist and Lancastrian camps, a tour of the festival site and the battle itself. (Long lenses are recommended for the battle.)
The photoshoot will contain an optional challenge. The winner will be judged on technical and stylistic merit and will get..... respect, adoration and a thermos flask.
The “official” itinerary will begin at 11am, but members of the DVJ will be at the rendezvous from 10:30am, which will be advised with the confirmation emails.
Open to RPS and non-RPS members.
Cost: free for DVJ members and non-DVJ members.
