Report on Monochrome Group Meeting at ILFORD
Date: 18th November 07
The first meeting of the RPS North West Region Monochrome group was held on 18th November at Ilford HARMAN technology in Mobberley, Cheshire. The day started at 9:30AM with coffee and introduction.
The event, which was fully subscribed and led by Alan Angel FRPS, gave members the opportunity to take some still life photographs in a studio and then develop and print the photographs in the Ilford darkrooms.
Afterwards there was a meeting to discuss further meetings for the newly formed Monochrome Group at which many positive ideas were put forward. It was a wonderful day and all those who came along enjoyed it. The meeting came to a close at 4:15PM.
The RPS North West Regional Organiser Dr Afzal Ansary FRPS expressed his sincere thanks to Martin Hadden and Nigel Player of Ilford HARMAN technology Limited for their help and support in oranganising the event and their help throughout the day.
Future meetings are being planned. It is anticipated that the next meeting will be in two or three months time when we will invite a speaker. However, in May we might be able to put together a meeting at Hough End where we will take black and white pictures with full support from Ilford (Harman Technology Ltd) to do digital printing on the day.
We hope that Harman Technology will bring along their printers and show us examples of excellent prints on Harman digital paper of various types. This meeting will be the one not to be missed. However, please watch our website. As soon as this meeting is confirmed, we shall post the details on our website.
