No matter where you were based, whether you were a participant or a spectator, you were asked to share the shots that inspired and delighted you. Open to both members and non-members worldwide, 2,720 images were entered into ‘Sport for All’ and 24 images were selected including Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners.

The selection panel included Marc Aspland FRPS, Chief Sports Photographer for The Times, Tom Hunter HonFRPS, Photographic Artist and Bob Martin HonFRPS, multi-award winning sports photographer who was working for London 2012 (consulting on photographic Issues for the Olympics).

During the competition launch Roy Robertson HonFRPS, President of The Royal Photographic Society, said “We hope to see sport in all its aspects, showing a diverse range of participants and activities – children kicking a ball in a village street, a school sports day or an Olympic swimmer at London 2012 - everything is welcome. The excitement of sport and participation by anyone and at whatever level is what we are looking for – and I am sure the images will reflect that.”

View the selected images and be reminded of the world’s greatest sporting event in 2012!
