Celebrating photography and image work from across the globe, the 2013 categories included Altered Reality, Nature and In Camera, allowing for a broad range of images to be submitted.

For selection, each category has specialist photographers, usually Fellows of The Society who choose on average a total of 400 images for the entire exhibition. RPS Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals alongside Ribbons, for Highly Commended images, are awarded in each of the categories.

The International Images for Screen Exhibition is recognised by the Photographic Society of America (PSA)*. Successful entrants can count their acceptances for the purpose of PSA stars and honours.

*PSA recognises the photographic achievement of entrants whose images are accepted for inclusion in exhibitions. Entrants keep track of their acceptances to all PSA approved exhibitions and can apply for PSA Star Ratings.  The number of acceptances for each of these Star Ratings is combined and the entrant can apply for Recognition of Photographic Achievement (ROPA) distinctions: Proficiency (PPSA), Excellence (EPSA), Master (MPSA), and Grand Master (GMPSA). Visit the PSA website for more info.
