Clive Haynes FRPS
1st April - 27th April 2011

The ways in which the camera allows for an extended view of the world is of great interest to Clive. Experimenting with extreme close-up, selective focus, shallow depth-of-field, monochrome, exaggerated colour, the infra-red spectrum, lens distortions and pattern pictures to name but a few of the exciting and visually stimulating approaches.

Clive believes a successful photograph should not only represent the subject but should also convey how we feel about it, so he strives to capture the essence of what he sees.  The resulting picture is "not so much about what something is but what something be"

Clive states: "While I delight in sharing the spontaneity of those ‘look what I saw’ moments through my work, I also like to create more contemplative images. The narrative element in pictures is very important to me, too.  In some of my pictures the narrative is obvious, whereas in others it is open to interpretation by the perceptive viewer".
