Jim Tonks ARPS - November 2009
Sacred Places by Jim Tonks ARPS
2nd - 27th November 2009
An exhibition of 30 traditional black and white prints of Cathedrals and Churches.
Jim Tonks has given the photographs a feeling that existed centuries ago, when these lovely buildings were lit by oil lamps and candles or the odd shaft of sunlight. He invites the viewer to look into the photos and feel the silence. Spinoza, a 17th Century Philosopher and Theologian said “It’s not to like nor dislike but to understand”, and I hope the viewer can feel the same.
2nd - 27th November 2009
