Hinton Ampner House (National Trust), the home of Lord Sherborne rebuilt after a major fire in 1960, combines an elegant neo-Georgian exterior with a beautiful and dramatic Georgian interior - Robert Adam fireplaces and recreated ceilings, fine furniture, carpets, paintings and clocks. The gardens, laid out as part of the 1960 remodelling, are widely acclaimed as a masterpiece of 20th century garden design.

Our party will meet at 9.20 a.m. in the Visitor Car Park, and we will then be able to photograph the interior from 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. before the House is opened to the public. We shall then be free to continue photography in the house as convenient, depending on when members of the public arrive, and in the gardens and adjacent church for the rest of the day.

Lunch can be taken in the House Tearoom, where tables will be reserved if participants let us know their intentions approx. 2 weeks in advance.

Hinton Ampner is on the A272 midway between Winchester and Petersfield, 1 mile west of Bramdean village.

The cost is £10 per person irrespective of National Trust membership. There is a maximum of 12 places available.
