I have had an active interest in photography since the age of seventeen (over thirty years)! I started with ‘Zorki 4k’ rangefinder 35mm camera and at that particular time, living in North Cornwall I was never short of subjects to photograph. Since then, there have many changes in this particular hobby of ours.
I use both digital and film equipment, Nikon covering both formats and I use a Canon Scanner to make use of my catalogue of slides and negatives.
Photography has been a great help to me since my disability, joining my local camera club and the RPS helped me meet lots of like minded people. A particular vote of thanks goes to the members of Wetherby Camera Club who helped me hone my skills and gain some success with their excellent range of competitions. . .
Not everyone likes competitions – even if you don’t - by listening to the judge’s comments (rightly or wrongly) it helps you understand what they are looking for. Also, make use of the RPS Advisory days in your area for help and assistance with your planned panel of images.
I was very pleased to gain my Licentiateship in September 2010.
