Diamond Jubilee Book - Submit your image
To celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the DVJ intends to produce a Blurb Photobook, a copy of which we will send to HM The Queen. The aim of the book is to capture the spirit of the many diverse ways in which the Jubilee is celebrated across the land and further afield. From Union Flag bunting, through street parties to more formal proceedings.
We are inviting all DVJ members to submit a SINGLE image for inclusion in the book, each submission will be allocated a space in the publication. We hope that all members will want to participate in marking this very special occasion.
Images should be emailed to dvj@rps.org. Images should be jpeg (1400 x 1050 max pixels sRGB), Please entitle your image with your surname and in the body of the accompanying email include the following information:
1) How you would like the image attributed (full name and distinction where appropriate)
2) Title of the image
3) Location where image was taken
The deadline for submissions is the 30th June 2012.
The book will be available for purchase from the Blurb website and all profits will go to the Royal British Legion (Patron: HM The Queen).
THE GROUP
One of the fastest growing groups in The Society, the DVJ has increased its membership by 65% over the last year and with new members signing up each week, this pace of growth looks set to continue. The group has an exciting events programme and will continue to offer a number of workshops to help its members on the road to distinctions.
You don’t have to be a journalist or a professional photographer to join the DVJ Group. This is a group whose members have a common interest in street photography and reportage – i.e. people going about the ordinary lives and everyday events. Documentary & Visual Journalism simply means taking photographs of life as it is or life as we see it.
