George Pollock

Born 1928.  Two RPS Fellowships, Pictorial (1967) and Applied (1993).  27 years on Council, President 1979-80 (Hon.FRPS).  Served 25 years total on two A & F Distinction Panels, 9 on Pictorial and 16 on Slide/Sound Sequences, of which 14 as first Chairman.   One of the members responsible for introducing Audio-Visual to the Society, including Distinction Panel (1972), International AV Festival (1976), and National Championships (1978).  Fenton and Henry Dobson Medallist.  Retrospective one-man show in Kodak Gallery, The Octogon, 1984.  One-man show in Fenton House \\\"Forms of Light\\\" 2009. 

In all has held over 30 One-man shows, including first all-Cilchrome exhibition in UK (1965). Was invited by the late Dr Fritz Guber to show his work at Photokina in 1966, including mural 10ft x 8 ft, later acquired by University of Suurey.  Created murals for British Petroleum, Lloyds Bank, and Metals Reseacrch.  Is also Hon.PAGB, MPAGB, EFIAP and FBIPP (retd.)

2011 produced DVD  "Ideas on the Art of Photography".  Latest articles RPS 'Visual Art' Autumn 2012, Spring 2013.
