Cost: £180 pp shared room, £210 single room occupancy.

Deposit £50 per person, cheques payable to FIELD STUDIES COUNCIL

Maximum 12 participants - booking on a first come, first served basis.

The weekend will follow on from John’s Insect Photography course which runs from Monday 5th – Friday 9th August.

 

Outline Programme (may be modified if weather conditions unfavourable):

Friday 9th August

1600 – 1900 Arrival and registration

1700             Afternoon tea served, meet other group members and members of other courses in the Centre

1900            Evening meal

2000            Orientation meeting – health & safety information, what’s on over the weekend

2030            Introduction to the weekend – John Bebbington

2130            Bar open until 2300

 

Saturday 10th August

0630            Early birds look at moth traps

0800            Prepare packed lunches

0830            Breakfast

0930            Depart for Wildmoor Pool and Stiperstones area (flowers, butterflies, dragon and damselflies)

1600            Return for afternoon tea

1630 – 1830 Processing images for evening session, photographing moths from traps, or photography in Centre grounds

1830            Evening meal

1930            Meet in lab; looking at images from day, presentations by members

2130            Bar open until 2300

 

Sunday 11th August

0630            Early birds look at moth traps

0800            Prepare packed lunches

0830            Breakfast

0930            Depart for Prees Heath (BC reserve) and Whixall Moss NNR (flowers, butterflies, dragon and damselflies, grasshoppers & bush crickets)

1600            Return for afternoon tea

1630 – 1830 Processing images for evening session, photographing moths from traps, or photography in Centre grounds

1830            Evening meal

1930            Meet in lab; looking at images from day, presentations by members

2130            Bar open until 2300

 

Monday 12th August

Please clear rooms by 0900 hrs. A safe storage space will be available for luggage during the day.

0630            Early birds look at moth traps

0800            Prepare packed lunches

0830            Breakfast

0930            Depart for Secret Hills visitor centre & country park. A wide range of habitats and subjects, with a good café and toilets on site.

1530            Return to Centre; tea, farewells and departure.
