About the Digital Imaging Group
We all enjoy photography and are interested in computers.
We also enjoy the computer manipulation of images using the various imaging software tools that are available.
Our group is the fastest growing Special Interest Group within The Royal Photographic Society (RPS).
All members of the Society are eligible for membership of the Digital Imaging Group, for more details see below.

Group Activities
A regular magazine DIGIT
Members receive a copy of our magazine 'Digit' four times a year. This is packed with all the latest news and information about the Group's activities and has a great variety of articles on various digital techniques. There are also regular features about members and the superb creative work they are producing.
We have an active forum for discussions,
sharing information and ideas
The Group and its Centres arrange a number of meetings and workshops around the country.
We Circulate an E-newsletter.
One of our aims is to promote good ethical practice
There is an annual exhibition of members work and the regional Centres also stage exhibitions of work.
All DIG members also receive regular e-newsletters to keep them informed of latest news in between editions of the Group magazine, DIGIT.

Membership Fees
Membership of the Group costs £15 this is in addition to your normal RPS membership subscription. This can be added to your Direct Debit if you pay by this method.

Your Personal Information
If you change your home address, your e-mail address or any other details please let Tony Mant at the RPS in Fenton House Bath, know. This will enable the Database to be kept upto date.
You can also opt out of receiving RPS e-mail messages but again let Tony Mant know.
PLEASE NOTE:
As soon as your subscription is received in the RPS office, you immediately become a member and eligible to use the website and the Forum.
However, you should be aware that the RPS database is only updated monthly. At the end of each the D.I.Group Secretary is informed of your membership. It is only then that your welcome letter and membership pack is posted to you.
The Digital Imaging Group provide a number of ways in which members can enhance the benefit of their membership some of these are listed below.
Regional Centres
There are a number of regional Digital Imaging Group Centreswhich offer a varied programme of events. At most of these events Digital Imaging Group members get preferential rates on tickets prices over other RPS members. Check the list of Sub-Groups on our Home Page.
E-newsletters
All DIG members will receive regular e-newsletters from the Secretary Janet Haines ARPS, to keep you informed of latest news in between editions of the Group magazine, DIGIT.
Please contact Janet Haines Our Secretary if you did not receive your E-newsletter - you could miss some urgent last minute announcements in the future.
RPS Forum
Anyone can view the main RPS Forum and those who wish can subscribe and then participate.
It is open to non-RPS members as well as members.
RPS DI Group Current Interactive Forum (Members only)
We also have our own Interactive Forum which is private for the DI group membership only. If you are a DI Group member and wish to view the private section, you will need to follow certain steps.

Please register with the main RPS web site Forum
The main RPS Forum can be viewed by all registered members. To participate in the private DIG Forum, you need to join the main RPS Forum which gives access to posting in the main section.
However, please note to view the private RPS Digital Imaging Forum you must e-mail or ring Tony Mant and tell him you are a DI Group member.
Once Tony has set your acount up you should log in to the main RPS Forum by going to www.rpsforum.org and, once you have logged in, you will see the DI Group section below that of the main forum.
You must use the same e-mail address which is in your RPS records.
There are a number of sections there including a Monthly competition, Images discussion area plus other information threads.
Members Images
Members may also upload a gallery of images to the main RPS Portfolio section which links to the DI Group web pages or they may also wish to participate in uploading at the Forum in the Images section. There the DI group members may if they wish receive comments and advice about their work.
