Miss Julie Dawn Dennis

I have taken photographs since childhood but only in my 40s did my circumstances lead me to study photography formally. Each project is very different from the next, but there are common threads. I work intuitively, and my work is very much led by circumstance.  To me, photography is an art form, my camera a tool for expression, and other mediums sometimes come into use alongside, perhaps handwritten text, or other materials.

I often work in the landscape and/or in the domestic environment.  Former projects have included explorations of privacy and voyeurism, representations of home and childhood, and constructed image.

In 2014, I gained a first class degree in Photography and I am currently a postgraduate student of photography (Falmouth).  I enjoy research and writing about photography as well as the practical aspects, and my interest in photography continues to grow.
