RPS member Yan Preston who was featured in the May 2015 RPS Journal for her documentary project Mother River her along the Yangtze River has been selected as part of the Swatch Faces 2015 pavilion at the Venice Biennale and will travel to Shanghai.
Swatch unveiled its multi-faceted presence at la Biennale Arte 2015 on 7 May. Joining the numerous artists who have worked with Swatch and have contributed work to the world’s largest gallery on the wrist are the ubiquitous German contemporary artists EVA & ADELE and the extraordinary Portuguese installation artist, Joana Vasconcelos, who were present in Venice for the unveiling. Carlo Giordanetti also introduced four of the more than 150 artists who have lived and worked at The Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai and contribute their stunning work to the Swatch Presence at la Biennale Arte 2015: Alec von Bargen, Yan Wang Preston, Luca Bray and Chiara Luzzana.
Yan's work, Mother Earth, seen here in situ, is a series of photographs of her Yangtze river journey.
