Peter Marlow, the Magnum photographer and Honorary Fellow of The Royal Photographic Society has died suddenly aged 64 years. Marlow joined Magnum and became a full member in 1986 and was instrumental in setting up the London office along with Chris Steele-Perkins.

His most recent work published in 2012 documented 42 Anglican cathedrals across England and is due to be exhibited inside Coventry Cathedral in April.

Magnum's Stuart Franklin paid tribute describing him as one of the most considerate and unselfish person he had known. He said: 'our collective picture of a generous, unselfish, self-effacing man, stoical to the last. We have lost a very good friend to all of us.' Martin Parr HonFRPS also paid tribute in Time magazine: 'As well as being a fine photographer…it is difficult to overestimate Peter’s contribution to Magnum over the years'.
