COASTSCAPES; A STUNNING COLLABORATION OF VISION AND SOUND IS LAUNCHED
Coastscapes, a very special collaboration will be launched on Thursday 15th November. The short film by Jayne Odell ARPS and musician Kevin Hall features over fifty original photographs set to a beautiful score, and is being released simply to illustrate a synergy between two types of artistry and to celebrate the successful work of two good friends. Guests at the launch party will be the first to see the finished piece ahead of its YouTube launch, but a teaser is available now.
Jayne’s photography centres on a passion for the sea hence the inspiration for the Coastscapes collection. She and Kevin met only six months ago through a mutual friend whilst Kevin was working on his most recent album ‘Songbook 2’, also to be released next month. He was immediately inspired by Jayne’s work and decided to compose a piece of music that would both support and lift the collection.
“I’ve been privy to a sneak preview, and Jayne’s spine-tingling photography has been sewn into an evocative short film of musical silk. Her stunning photography has been enjoyed here since she chose us to hang the collection, and it's been really well received so I'm sure it will wow folks on the night”, says John McGinley of The Lounge in Biggleswade, where the launch will take place.
Jayne discovered her love of photography in 2006, and swiftly developed her skills to achieve an ARPS Distinction in Visual Arts awarded by the Royal Photographic Society in June 2011. Her additional forays into landscape and observational work have achieved high acclaim at club competition and national exhibition level.
She uses Nikon equipment for most of her work. The camera body is a D700 which she uses with a full range of Nikon lenses and Lee filter system. The gear is kept nice and steady with a Gitzo series 3 carbon 6X monster tripod – an absolute necessity for the long exposure work she enjoys at dawn and dusk, in very low light conditions. Other essential items in her kit bag include a torch, woolly mittens, and chocolate buttons.
Kevin’s extensive work to date includes partnerships with Pixie Lott and Alexandra Burke. His first collection of original songs 'Songbook' was released in 2008, and in 2011 a partnership with acclaimed Minneapolis jazz vocalist the late Christine Rosholt saw the successful release of ‘Pazz.’
The Coastscapes preview is available now, and the full version will be available from 16th November 2012. For more information on the artists visit www.jayneodellphotography.co.uk and www.kevinhall.biz.
