    Migration, Stories of a Journey
    Photography Award 2011
    Accademia Apulia UK is proud to present Migration, Stories of a Journey, an international
    Photography Award aimed at promoting emerging photographers of all nationalities based in
    the European Union.
    The award aims to foster a cultural exchange between countries through the Arts.
    A distinguished jury will select the photographers who best interpret and explore migrants’
    plight - their journey from a disadvantaged homeland to making a social and economic
    contribution in another country.
    The works of five finalists will be shown in a group exhibition at the Royal Horseguards in
    London, where the winner will be announced.

    Terms & Conditions
    I. The work of each applicant should address the following concept:
    Migration, Stories of a Journey
    II. Artwork
    1. Each applicant will need to submit a photographic essay consisting of three digital
    images that explore one of the following:
    a) migrants’ struggle and difficulties as they seek a better life in their adopted country.
    b) migrants’ accomplishments and contributions as successful members and leaders in their
    adopted country.
    2. Images may be digitally enhanced for colour/contrast/brightness, but not manipulated.
    3. The works submitted must be unpublished. It is the responsibility of each applicant to
    ensure that the images submitted have been taken with the permission of the subject and
    do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Applicants must warrant
    that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the
    copyright for it.
    4. Each applicant will retain the copyright of their own work; however, each applicant
    grants Accademia Apulia UK a license to feature any or all of the submitted images in
    any of their publications, their website and/or in any promotional material.
    III. Fees
    There are no fees to enter the competition.
    IV. Participants
    1. The prize is open to photographers of all nationalities based in the European Union.
    2. Only one entry per person. Illegible or incomplete entries will not be accepted. Please note
    that proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
    V. Jury
    The jury will consist of established photographers, art critics and journalists.

    VI. The timeline of the competition is as follows:
    30/12/2011 All documentation, including the 3 themed images, must be received by email.
    10/01/2012 The names of the finalists will be announced on the Accademia website.
    10/02/2012 Official opening of the exhibition & announcement of the winner.
