Launching 1 January 2013: RPS Members’ Monthly Competition

New for 2013 is a members’ monthly online competition with twelve themes – one per month – throughout the year.

The Members’ Monthly Photography Competition is your chance to experiment with photography develop new ideas and to be challenged. Enter one or all twelve competitions.  A different theme will feature every month with three overall winners:  2 chosen by the RPS Staff and 1 voted by you – the membership.

How to enter

The competition is open to all RPS members and you can join in whenever you like. If you entered the Members' Biennial, simply use your Biennial user name and password.  If you have forgotten your login details, look under the 'Help' section on the registration page and you can receive a reminder of your username/password.

If you are new to the competition site, the first thing you need to do is REGISTER and create your own individual username and password. Your website Members Area login will not be recognised, however feel free to register a username and password that match. Registration is simple. The only information you need to supply to create your account is your membership number, email, name and country. If you hold any RPS Distinctions, put them after your surname when you register (or add them later).

You can upload up to 5 images each month. Use the optional description boxes and offer a little bit more information about your entries. For example, describe the process or idea behind your image.

Choosing the Winners

At the end of each monthly competition, RPS Staff will shortlist a number of images which will then appear under ‘Finalists’.

Members have the opportunity to vote for the images you like the most! Voting will remain open until the end of that month. You will be able to vote on every shortlisted image, so only vote for an image that is your favourite and represents the theme for the month.  A total of 3 selected images will be chosen as the overall monthly winners and will include the image that received the highest vote.

Winners will be announced in eRPS The Society’s e-newsletter, the Members Area and will appear on this site. So remember to check back and see if you're our monthly winner!
