Winners announced for February competition
- Published 11th April 2013
It has been great viewing all of the images submitted to the Members’ Monthly Photo Competition. The theme for March was ‘The Dark Side’ exploring photography at night. The MARCH FINALISTS have been shortlisted and are available now for you to vote*.
Congratulations to all the February Finalists for ‘Find Something Interesting in an Ordinary Place’. Winter Surprise by Noel Bennett received the highest number of votes and RPS Staff selected Untitled 2 by Colin Tracy ARPS and Car Wash by Alex Drozd. Take a look at our Award Winners Gallery and see who has emerged as the overall winners from the year so far, or view all of the Monthly Finalists.
Aprils theme is focussed on experimenting with photography. Why not share an idea or effect you have been working on or try out a film or digital technique. Long exposures, tilt – shift, macro, photomontages, pinhole, experimenting with strobes and filters are just a few ideas to get you thinking. If you are interested in Lomography, why not upload your results. Be as creative as you like and let us know in the description box how your image was made.
You can upload work you may have already or set a project for yourself and take some new photographs to enter. All images can be uploaded at www.rps-365.org
*Notes on the voting system: For voting, you do not need to have registered for the competition in order to vote. Just click on the image you wish to vote for and then select ‘vote now’ just above the image. If it is your first time voting you will be asked for a valid email address just once, after that you can simply select ‘vote now’ on any shortlisted image. Remember that the image displayed on the screen is the image you will be voting for. Once the button has been pressed, that’s it, your vote has been counted.
The RPS International Print 156 and Members’ Monthly are separate competitions and each require a short registration process to be completed. If you would like to enter the RPS International 156, visit www.rps-international.org. Entry is open until 17 May.
