The Society's Director-General Michael Pritchard FRPS represented The Society at the launch of Remembrance of the Great Wall a new book which looks at the photographic history of China's greatest monument.

In the book old photographs are juxtaposed with modern pictures taken from similar viewpoints. The book has been published by Phoenix Publishing & Media Group - China's largest publishing house (www.ppm.cn).

A selection of the the photographs are bring exhibited at Central Hall,Westminster (3-4 August); Charing Cross Library (17 August-17 September) and at SOAS Library (18 September-2 November) all in London. The book is currently only available in Chinese but an English-language edition is due to be published later this year.
