  • Many thanks to The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, who very kindly hosted this year’s Combined Royal Colleges Lecture on Wednesday 9 November.  The extremely interesting and informative  lecture was given by Spike Walker (who won The Society’s Combined Royal Colleges Medal in 2010) and was called ‘Photoshop Until You Drop – the impact of digital techniques on Photomicrography’.   The lecture was preceded by a drinks reception.

Originally established by The Society, in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians of London, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Combined Royal Colleges Medal is awarded for an outstanding contribution to photography and/or its application in the service of medicine and surgery.  We are now asking for nominations for 2012.  If you would like more information on the award or would like to nominate someone, please contact Jo Macdonald, Awards Manager, on 01225 325721 or jo@rps.org
