Exhibition: Christopher Burton ARPS (1917-2007)
- Published 18th September 2012

An exhibition of the photography of the late Christopher Burton ARPS opens at Lauderdale House, Highgate, London on 19 September and runs until 30 September.
Anglo-french photographer, writer and linguist Christopher Burton's photography displays an architectural intelligence. the yearning to capture and convey some considered element pulls the viewer up short. His photographs, whether of rustic buildings in southern france, the hands of craftspeople, or casual encounters in West Africa are all, in a way, formal portraits revelling in the isolated beauty of the object portrayed. The exhibition includes a selection of his work for The Lady magazine.
