ENTRY NOW OPEN FOR THE RPS INTERNATIONAL 156
The Royal Photographic Society invites professional, student and amateur photographers worldwide to submit their work for the RPS International 156. This year, the RPS is delighted to announce that for the first time in its history, digital entries may be submitted alongside print entries.
The Royal Photographic Society’s annual International Print Exhibition is the longest standing exhibition of its kind in the world. During its long history of over 150 years, it has gained a reputation for showcasing a wide range of genres and styles of photography. Entry is open to everyone (whether an RPS member or not). Entrants can submit up to 4 images online or as prints, into one of two groups: Over 30s and Under 30s. The deadline for entries is 17 May 2013.
The distinguished panel of judges are: Sophie Batterbury, Picture Editor of The Independent on Sunday; Anthony Holland Parkin, Director of Editorial Content, Getty Images; Olivia Arthur, Photojournalist; Bill Jackson, Fine Art Photographer; and Ray Spence, Commercial & Fine Art Photographer. They will select an exhibition which showcases a wide range of genres and styles of photography, with cutting-edge prints being shown alongside traditional work.
All styles of photography will be considered including documentary, fashion, fine art, photojournalism, travel, portraiture and nature, amongst others. Each image submitted will be judged as a single, stand-alone image so applicants can enter a varied selection of work. An exhibition of selected works will tour to venues across the UK, starting in July 2013.
Having a print selected for the tour offers great exposure for photographers just starting out in their careers as well as giving enthusiasts well-deserved recognition. Previous International Print photographers include, Simon Roberts FRPS, Laura Pannack and Julia Fullerton-Batten.For further details and to apply online, visit: www.rps-international.org
