Rafal Lukawiecki

I am a land­scape pho­to­grapher spe­cial­ising in tra­di­tional black-and-white silver-gelatin prints. I like to use a large format film view cam­era, and I print all of my pho­to­graphs by hand, in my dark­room, using tech­no­logy that has not changed much in the last hun­dred years. I believe that a slow and involved cre­at­ive pro­cess gives me a more intim­ate insight into the com­plex­ity of the world. I am drawn to raw abstraction occuring in nature, which, I believe, not only serves as an inspiration for man-made art, but also strongly questions its claims of absolute originality.
