John Groves LRPS
I’ve been interested in photography for some years now, my main interests were truck racing, cars, & bike racing. I moved on to studio glamour work when I changed my employment and my weekend became work orientated. I have my own darkroom, and enjoyed the challenge of developing and printing my own colour and monochrome images, but with the onslaught of the digital age I have become a convert. I think that the digital process is cleaner and I have more control over the finished result. My darkroom still exists I only use it to do the really special prints as I still think that the time honoured way is the best. Recently my work commitments have changed so now is the time to broaden my horizons, I would like to try my hand or lens at landscape and wild life. I am a member of Wakefield camera Club, where they encouraged me to go for my LRPS, after a useful workshop I entered my panel in the 20th May 2007 assessment at Backworth Hall and was successful.
