BRIAN CURTIS

Brian grew up in rural Essex.   He attended the universities of Sussex and Wales.   He has spent most of his working life in teaching and publishing.

He has a life-long passion for the visual arts, particularly, photography.   His early work was inspired by his native East Anglia.   He now primarily concentrates upon rural and urban landscapes, often with solitary and silhouetted figures.  He also produces seascapes and yachting images which emphasise the essential loneliness and isolation of the individual in a natural setting.

More recently he has been photographing cityscapes in both Europe and North America, where he has further developed his interest in capturing the human figure in an urban environment.

He believes that, the true worth and fascination of photography lies in its ability to freeze forever a unique and memorable moment, which illustrates something of the intensity of the complex relationship betweeen time and human existence.

He is currently living in Devon, where he continues to explore and develop his creative vision.
