Wynston Cooper ARPS
In New Zealand we are blessed with a small population of just under 4.5 million people in a land area about the same size as Great Britain. We also have wonderfully clear air, superb natural light, and an array of landscape types.
Living in the south of South Island I have the benefit of some of the best morning and evening light in the country, especially during late autumn to early spring.
While my principle aim is to celebrate the beauty of the New Zealand landscape, I also dabble in natural history and travel photography on an opportunistic basis.
Preferring the challenge of making my images in my camera I work mainly in 35mm colour transparencies.
My work has been included in 13 books as well as a number of information pamphlets, and some images also form part of two permanent displays. I have also previously participated in international pictorial photogrphic competitions with considerable success. In 2005 I was invited to participate in an exhibition of contemporary photography from around the world held in Barcelona, Spain, having six images displayed.
I was enrolled as an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society in 1974.
I hope you enjoy your browse through this selection of my images.
