Daniel Mann MA PGCE ARPS
2007 - Teacher of Photography at St Vincent 6th Form College.
2006 - PGCE in Post 16 Education at Oxford Brookes.
2005 - MA Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths College.
Originally influenced by 1930's French photography (Brassai and Kertesz) and early Soviet Cinema and German Expressionist film, I specialised in documentary photography and fell in love with street reportage under the working title of "Absence of Presence" London South Bank. Found myself traveling the country and spending time in service stations late at night and took the opportunity to photography a unique space.
In 2005 studied at goldsmiths college, London and produced a visual dissertation under the title of "The Utopic Dream - an urban to rural transition". It explored the idealised picture postcard view on rural England and documented the property acquisition of four-second homebuyers who split their time between London and Norfolk.
In 2007 became a teacher at a sixth form college in Hampshire where I am currently completing my second year.
Future plans - to return to goldsmiths to complete a PhD in visual research based around my ongoing portfolio.
