My photographic interests started several years ago when my parents gave me a Kodak 110 point and shoot camera for my birthday. I took many photographs with this camera before upgrading to a 35mm Nikon F801 SLR as my interest in the subject flourished.

However, after a few years I became disillusioned with photography as my images seemed to look mundane and often out of focus, so finally placed the camera back into its case and went back to playing my drums!

It was not until a few years ago a very good friend of mine introduced me to digital capture; this rekindled my interest big time as I found the learning curve so much quicker due to the instantanious results displayed on the back on the camera.

Although I have always taken photographs of almost anything, I nearly always try and look for something unusual or a different way of shooting an otherwise ordinary subject, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I always try to keep each of my images as varied as possible as I find it a real challenge.

Even though most of my photography is now with digital capture which I prefer, I've recently started using film again, I find that the highlights do not seem to burn out so much and for the time being, at least, the resolution seems better.

I currently use a Nikon D200, a Sony F828 that comes equipped with a marvellous Carl Zeiss lens, and a Leica M6 that I love for its simplicity and pin sharp lenses, I mainly use this for black and white imagery.

I do not have any favorite photographers as I find there are so many great professional and amateurs alike out there that have a huge influence upon me.
