Anne Gilbert LRPS
Like many, my interest in photography was sparked as a child by my parents; both of which were keen amateur photographers. I had a choice between being bored as they took forever to get from A to B taking pictures of anything and everything or join them. My parents were wise to this and ensured that I was equipped with a camera early on.
There was then a prolonged gap when I left home, where I took hardly any photographs at all. Then came the digital age and my interest was rekindled.
So here I am now, since getting a D-SLR my camera and I have been pretty much inseparable. I have been on a voyage of discovery: relearning techniques long forgotten and others never before experienced.
In November 2008 I was awarded the Licentiateship distinction from The Royal Photographic Society, another step on my photographic journey. (The panel images can be seen together in my portfolio here.)
I have tried many genres of photography and have discovered my interests are wide, but my passions have become more focussed.
My true passion lies in the world of plants and my dream would be to work as a horticultural photographer.
From little acorns…
