If you look in a dictionary for the definition of photography, it says
\"It is the art or process of producing images by the action of radiant energy and especially light on a sensitive surface\".
This might be correct but it all sounds too clinical to me.
I feel that it should be to freeze time and bring back memories. we all look at photographs, either happy or sad. To raise a smile or shed a tear so that the past is not forgotten.
Hi, Welcome to my online gallery.
My name is Rob Wiltshire and I was born in 1967, I grew up in the Vale of the White Horse near Uffington White Horse Hill in a small village called Sparsholt. I moved a few miles to Swindon when I was in my twenties and stayed their ever since.
I may not be a professional photographer but you could say I am an enthusiastic amateur but that will not stop me from trying to get the best out of my subject and pictures. I have had an interest in photography for many years but that was only as a compact camera user taking snap shots of family and holidays.
I bought my first DSLR in early 2008, had a look through the manual, did not understand a word of it so just put it on auto and continued to take snaps. After a few months of this and thinking to myself ‘what a waste of money buying this camera was’ I saw an advertisement from the Blackthorn School of Photography in Cricklade, Wiltshire. I have since took a few courses at the Blackthorn in Basic DSLR, Portrait and Landscape and have not looked back since and recently became a member of The Royal Photographic Society.
I am more drawn towards Landscape photography, I enjoy capturing things that are natural, something that you have little or no control over but as you will see in my portfolio, I do not mind putting my hand to other aspects of photography.
Please feel free to browse through my pictures and I hope that you get as much enjoyment out of them as I did while I was taking them, you can find more by clicking my website link below..
