I have been a serious amateur photographer for over 20years. In the early stages I had my own wet darkroom which I enjoyed but over the past 10 years I have changed to Digital which I enjoy far more. I enjoy a wide range of photography but with a specific goal insight I am at present centering my photography on the Thames Sailing Barge.

To do this I have become a member of the Thames Sailing Barge Trust which along with other similar organisations are keepingthese wonder old boats afloat and sailing. It has taken a number of years to accumalate a portfolio which is acceptable to me. It is important to me to get the weather conditions and the positioning of the barges which will combine to make a pictorial presentation.

Each year a number of barges matches (races) are held around the East Coast. Most of my pictures are taken during these events others have been taken from the decks of the Trust Barges. The best time for this is early mornings.
