        This body of work is a photographic representation of the Junior and Adult Dance Festivals, held at the Tower and the Empress Ballrooms in Blackpool.  As a dancer I had competed there myself, and I wanted to convey some of my passion for competitive modern ballroom dance.  I have looked at the concepts and the notions of femininity, masquerade, and the rules and rituals which go to make modern ballroom dance a unique celebration of women.

        Primarily consisting of photographic and book arts, I have brought together a variety of image styles, including text and images of found objects.  My practice is formed from traditional, digital, new technologies and the notion of experiment, which reflects the cross disciplinary nature of contemporary visual arts practice and photography.
