Richard Olpin

I've been a keen 'snapper' all my life and my father was a semi-pro wedding photographer for years but I'd never really taken my own photography beyond the point-and-shoot convenience of a compact.   

Having given up on the 'rat race' and quit the day job I now have rather more time on my hands and hence the decision that I needed a new hobby. Took the plunge and bought myself a D-SLR (Canon 40D) and so here we are.. 

I'm somewhat frustrated by rather defective colour vision which means I'll often tend towards mono or HDR images, but that's ok as those are both styles I enjoy anyway.

I'm planning to pursue my photography more seriously now and about to start on an OU course to help with the inspiration and aiming to work towards an RPS distinction later in the year.
