Des Gardner FRPS

I have been into photography for more years than I dare remember, I joined the local photographic club in the sixties, which I am still a member. I then joined the RPS in the early seventies to further my interest. I got my LRPS and ARPS in 1982, followed by my FRPS in 1985 these distinctions were all done with prints developed and printed by myself, I loved working in the darkroom, I printed colour and monochrome but my favourite was mono. I got my L and my A in the pictorial section, as it was known then. I got my F in the applied section. All the prints were in monochrome.

Early in 1997 I started to go down the digital road, now I am completely digital, (and skint)   All my pictures are more or less as I see them through the viewfinder, the least I do to them in photoshop the better, I always try to get them right first time in the camera, I am always happy to be out and about with a camera, and whatever I think will make a picture I snap it!  I seem to have travelled the world in the past twenty five years taking pictures, but some of my best pictures were taken here in Birmingham where I live, some were taken as far as my back garden!

I do hope you enjoy the pictures that I have selected for you. If you have any comments to say about my pictures I would be delighted to hear from you.
