Ben Dawkins LRPS
Picking up my first 'proper' camera at the age of fourteen I can happily say I've never looked back! At school I studied photography as a GCSE subject and then A-Level, and now at 29 years old I enjoy using a range of cameras from 35mm to medium format, as well as panoramic.
I have a love of architecture and a fascination with ancient ruins and archaeological sites, so whenever possible I enjoy photographing these subjects the most. If not travelling abroad somewhere I make the most of what's on offer locally, for me, this is the Kent coast and its numerous castles and landmarks.
I have been a member of the RPS for a few years now and I achieved my Licentiateship back in May 2006. My current projects are to continue supplying images to Alamy and to capture on film as much of my home county as possible. I also started a photography forum in August 2006 and have recently launched a website for the first ever World Film Photography Day, details of which can be found on my main site. But most of all, I just want to enjoy the great outdoors and the picture taking process!
