Work history
I started at Westward TV in 1977 as a trainee in production then moved to LWT as a Studio cameraman, went back to Plymouth’s TSW to pilot a magazine show for teenagers called Sounding Bored, after that I made a documentary called Exile about Tibetans living in India, shot on 16mm then produced a short feature called Beautiful thing for director/writer Erik Knudsen. I then moved back into TV, working for Sky One in production, joined TV3 as a promo producer for Sweden, Denmark and Norway; joined the launch team for UK Gold with a company called Caplan & Wilkie. After the launch I joined UK Gold continuing to make promos until I moved to Living TV and then onto Flextech working on many of their channels. During this time I wrote, shot, cast, directed and produced all my own on air material. I started freelancing in 2000 and worked for Movie channels and directed the Architectural Awards documentary for Sky, made the relaunch promos for Granada TV as they resurrected Crossroads!! I also prepared and produced ITN’s pitch for the mega screens at most major UK train stations, which we won! The Media trust approached me with a prison project for the Inside Out Trust, which we shot over a year in and out of prisons looking at the training available for inmates within the prison system which was well received.
Since then I have produced the odd short film, one of which called The Right Hand Man won awards in Canada's short film festival. Since 2000 I have predominently worked in the field of photography, enjoying some success over many exhibitions. The work is mainly geared towards the documentary style. I am 49 years of age and live in Kentish Town, London and in a cottage on Bodmin moor !
Travel experience Most of Europe, USA, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Africa, India and Nepal.
