Ben Gorman

Ben Gorman's photographic work spans over fifteen years and reflects his diverse interests in subject matter and his attention to technical detail and technique.

Ben lives in the UK. In 2008 he was awarded the Associateship Distinction of the Royal Photographic Society for a series of images of woodlands in the UK.

Recently Ben has turned his attention to natural landscapes in Britain. The main influences on his work have been English landscape painters and the work of the American photographer Ansel Adams.

Ben views photography very much as an art form where the photographic print is not simply a visual record. Through careful and considered use of composition, tone and texture, he communicates what he sees and feels at the time the exposure is made and is able to convey mood and atmosphere to the onlooker.

A collection of Ben's photographs of trees was exhibited at the RPS Headquarters in Bath in July 2007.
