Artist's Statement:
"In most people’s lives, they are content with things the way they are… they fail to capture the moment; to savor it, and revel in it’s beauty. Photography allows one to capture a "moment in time;" to hold it and relive it. Photography is my escape into a world of creativity; to see the world in other ways; and to capture it’s essence, it’s beauty, it’s wonder. Photography truly is a "time machine" in which you can return to the past and marvel in the wonders you have seen in this beautiful world."

Biography:
Born in 1954, Thomas McElvy has been a photographer since his early teens. A graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, he also holds an Associates Degree from Tidewater Community College. He has also studied with the London Art College. Tom is the recipient of several awards and honors for his work, and has been published in a variety of newspapers and magazines, as well as in online galleries. He is a member of the Photographic Society of America, the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, the Virginia Beach Photography Club in which he currently serves as President, and the Hampton Roads Digital Shutterbug Club. Tom resides in Virginia Beach Virginia, USA, with his four Pomeranians, Tasha, Snowball, Candy and Anna.
