Jeremy Pelzer
With a career that began in freelance film production, I have worked on numerous movies and drama productions including The World is Not Enough and Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, Disney’s 102 Dalmatians, The Entrapment, Goldeneye, The Phantom Menace and Paramount’s Tomb Raider, working both in the UK and abroad. June through December 2009 I briefly returned film on Twentieth Century Fox’ Gulliver’s Travels and as Assistant Director and Location Scout on several smaller projects. From March 2011 I have been retained as a Consultant Co-Producer for a slate of productions in development, as well as advising on several industry related developments.
Pursuing a passion for stills photography, in recent years photographing part-time for a number of commercial clients has been complimented by more formal studies for a BA Hons degree with the Open College of the Arts. Having received a Certificate of Higher education I remain hopeful that completion of the second year in March 2012 will result in a Diploma before progressing to the full degree.
As Consultant Managing Director of Elstree Studios to January 2009, alongside evaluation of the overall business, key responsibilities included preparation and recommendations on all major strategies, transactions, creation and direction of commercial contracts, budgets, forecasts, HR, legal elements and building upon the established profile whilst re-branding Elstree for the next decade.
Assuming overall governance we succeeded in a significant increase in turnover and profitability ensuring Elstree experienced its highest performance year to date alongside restructuring of the overarching Management Agreement between the Studio and the local authority owner.
Appointed Studio Director of Ealing Studios at the start of 2003 I directed all elements of the business for over five years; ensuring ongoing independent physical production at the Studios whilst remaining involved in the development, production and sales of a catalogue of feature film and drama credits including those for Ealing - Valiant, Alien Autopsy, Imagine Me and You, Fade to Black, I Want Candy and St Trinian’s’.
Involved in a number of wider initiatives within the UK Motion Picture Industry I have formerly held board positions on the Production Guild of Great Britain, the Screen Academy at the London College of Communications; as member of the Filming in London Partnership Committee, and also chaired the West London Creative Industries Strategy in 2006 and 2007.
