Jefferson Hammond
I am landscape photographer based in Hebden Bridge at the heart of the South Pennines in West Yorkshire.
I have recently returned to photography after a break of several years and although I have a background in traditional photography and darkroom work, I now shoot entirely in black and white.
The majority of my work is based upon the South Pennines landscape and attempts to explore the qualities that make the South Pennines such a special place, despite decades of industrial decline and dereliction, as well as abandonment of many parts of the upland landscape.
Beyond the South Pennines, my work seeks to explore a similar theme through photographing the remains left behind by man's activities over the centuries.
