I enjoy walking in the countryside whenever possible. We no longer have a dog and the children have grown up. I could clear the room by asking if anybody fancied a walk.  

My wife encouraged me to purchase a camera to accompany me on my walks. This was at the end of September, 2010. I obtained a Digital single lens reflex camera. I have since picked up all sorts of manual lenses and enlarging lenses (Using bellows to focus) as well as some newish lenses made for the camera. This has helped me to understand the relationship between ISO, apperture and exposure. I get immense pleasure from my attempts at photography. I particularly enjoy finding an unwanted and old dusty lens that has been inactive for many years, cleaning it up and with an appropriate adapter producing a photo. Very pleasurable.

I am a trial and error man. I have found photography late in life. It is a vast subject and is absorbing and fascinating. I have had a flat period recently in my photography and so I hope to improve by being a member of the RPS. My sole object is to attempt to capture some of the beauty and interest which surrounds us all every day.
