It is a rare coup for the Visual Journalism group, but one we are rightly proud of.  Having a personal history exceeding 80 years of pressing a shutter, Lord Healey has agreed to share some of his moments as the peoples' photographer.

Starting life in a working class family in West Yorkshire, Denis was limited to a handful of rolls of film each year, purely due to the high cost at the time.  But the seed was sown and photography became a love he has carried through to the present time.

During his political career which started in the 1950s Denis had access to people and places one only came across on television or in the newspapers and with the aid of his trusty camera, these soon became personal memories.

Since the 1980s Denis has been well published and his photographic memoirs are much referred to in recording 20th century political history.

Described as the 'best Prime Minister we never had' Lord (Denis) Healey's contribution will be without doubt the flagship event of our 2010 calendar.

Admission by ticket only, cost £10 per person.  Very early requests are recommended...
