Adobe Photoshop  Lightroom delivers a complete workflow solution for the digital photographer from importing, reviewing, organizing, and enhancing digital images to publishing photos, producing  presentations, creating photo books and web galleries, and outputting high-quality prints.

On Sunday 24th March the London region will be running the first in a short series of Adobe Lightroom Workshops. The workshops are aimed at beginners or existing users who feel they are not utilising the workflow solution to its best advantage.  Each workshop will incorporate a photo shoot in Greenwich.

 

The aim of the first workshop is to introduce you to the Lightroom features below, using some of the photographs taken during a photo shoot on the day.

  •  What Lightroom does and how the files work.
  •  The workspace - Adjusting layouts and customising.
  • Importing  - Organising, renaming, backing up, creating presets and file destinations.
  • Reviewing - Navigating, viewing, comparing,  rejecting and deleting
  • Organising - Moving and synchronizing files & folders, collections, keywords, Metadata, flags and ratings, searching

 

The workshop will be given using a large TV Screen and notes supplied in various formats (hard copy, PDF, Epub for ipad/iphone), however to get the best out of the workshop it is recommended that  you bring a laptop with Lightroom loaded on. If you do not have a copy of Lightroom, you can download a one month free trail from Adobe.com.

 

An approximate time table for the day is given below. The exact timetable will depend on various factors such as the level of existing knowledge within the group and the weather.

 

10:00 - Coffee

10:30 - Introduction to Lightroom and using the work space.

12:00 - Photo Shoot (& lunch)

14:00 - Importing , Reviewing & organising part 1

15:30 - 16:00 Tea break

16:00 - Reviewing and organising part 2

17:00 - 17:30 - Finish

 

The cost includes tea, coffee and biscuits, but does not include lunch.
