POLICE DOGS IN TRAINING,

DURHAM

DVJ SUNDAY SHOOT: 7 JULY 2013

The Durham Police Dog Unit have invited us to join them during a police dog training session on Sunday, 7 July, 2013.   The Unit will give us access to dog teams on duty that day. The day will be ‘out in the field’ on normal training exercises: German Shepherd dogs training for criminal work/ tracking /searching /obedience and agility exercises and Labrador or Springer spaniels training for drugs / cash and weapons detection searching.

This is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with an important area of police work.   But please remember that these are working dogs and your safety is your responsibility.

Places are restricted to 30 photographers.

Theme:            Police Dogs in Action

Cost:                £10.00 plus each participant must agree to provide one photograph to the Dog Unit for the use of the police in publicising the work of the Unit.

The best image of a police dog in action, submitted to the Unit, will be awarded a RPS Thermos Flask.   The winning image will be selected by the dog handlers hosting us on the day.

To register your interest for this Shoot please email:  dvj@rps.org.
