My Photos:  Hidden Landscapes in Mother-of-Pearl.

I am presenting artistic resemblances of landscapes that I captured from the surfaces of mother-of-pearl.

Shooting close-ups of jewellery, I stumbled across a string of mother-of-pearl.  I was amazed to see how the lines and colours on the surfaces of the shells look like landscapes drawn onto the shells.

With my camera I explored the surfaces of many pieces of coloured mother-of-pearl, taking hundreds of shots of areas each just a few square millimetres, then enlarged these a few thousand times and processed it through a dry brush filter.    What I am showing is not montage compositions; what you see is what is on a tiny area of a shell.

It was a journey of perseverance with many failures.  I obtained much satisfaction from capturing, processing and now presenting, in a somewhat abstract style, this hidden landscape impressions, drawn by nature and fused by time.
