Michael Mason

Michael is retired and in the process of establishing himself as a photographer and project manager for the voluntary and private sectors, after a working lifetime in the public sector. He has undertaken assignments in Europe and the United States. This gives him plenty of opportunity to indulge in his passions of walking, reading, motoring, travel, photography and Americana. In 1990 he was awarded the City and Guilds Certificate in Photography on successful completion of three of the five modules of the 9231 Photography Course with distinction and two with credit and was enrolled a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society.

He admires the work of many professional photographers, especially those from whom the following quotations are taken...

\"Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.\" - Don McCullin.

\"We are passive onlookers in a world that moves perpetually. Our only moment of creation is that 1/125 of a second when the shutter clicks.\" Henri Cartier-Bresson, The Decisive Moment.

\"My approach to photography is based on my belief in the aspects of grandeur and of the minutiae all about us.\" Ansel Adams.
