We are a friendly, supportive, non competitive group of like minded photographers, who prefer to work on projects with a personal approach.
We meet 3 – 4 times a year to discuss work, exchange ideas and inspire each other.
Our meetings are open to all interested members, so if you are looking for more from your photography, you like to work in projects rather than chase single images or you like the personal non-competitive approach to your image making you are welcome to join.
Launched 3 years ago we have been quite active and successful. The group has published together with a Crediton Writing Group The book ‘Leaving Traces’, had an exhibition in the Plymouth Sherwell Gallery, and has just published the book ‘Transient Witness’. The exhibition “‘Transient Witness’, Changes in South West England”, was held at The Sherwell Gallery, Plymouth.

Regional Events:
RPS Contemporary SW Meeting 3rd December 2011
I always look forward to our meetings, with so many interesting and diverse projects look at; you are always in for feast of diverse photography. The meeting at Gweek in Cornwall did not disappoint.
From disappearing aspects of rural India, local colourful festivals, old farming methods still in use in Cornwall, farmers market days, and the scars caused by commercial tree felling. Whilst other workers showed us derelict buildings, redevelopment projects, posts and pillars in the landscape, to foot prints, and the river Plym. It was certainly a day packed full of very high quality photography including an excellent lunch laid on by Viv and Martin, who I would like to thank on behalf of the group for their generous hospitality.
“Just Looking?”
Our next project would be open, and photographers would select a theme of their own choice. We would aim for an exhibition in the Cube3 gallery, but we would need a good sample of work to submit to the hanging committee beforehand. It was agreed that we would use the working title of “just looking?”
Contemporary Journal Winter Edition
All the work for the Contemporary Journal would be sent to me, by the 16th December, so I could post it to the editor in good time for the winter edition.
Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting would be in Devon, in March 2012 the majority favoured Sunday the 18th venue to be confirmed.
