The region covers Devon and Cornwall, a large geographical area with stunning landscapes and scenery to suit all ages and interests.
From a large number of National Trust properties and areas of cliff and beach, English Heritage sites to places like The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and a variety of other tourist and areas of historic interest and SSI.

Areas of rugged coastline compete with the moorland of Exmoor, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor for the photographers attention along with an abundance of small fishing villages dotted around the coastline. Preserved steam railways and the famous Seaton Tramway satisfy the needs of the transport enthusiast, along with a good selection of zoos and wildlife parks.
The regional committee arrange field trips and lectures, 1 a month on average with the exception of August and December, these are open to members and non members and all will be assurred of a warm welcome. 2008 Members Exhibition


Work is required for this years exhibition, the theme is, “the people and places of the South West, the committee will be selecting only the very best images for hanging, which will be at the Sherwell Gallery in Plymouth and will run from the 1st to the 13 December. The gallery is open from 10.00 am to 16.00 pm hours Monday to Friday. If you are travelling any distance it is best to check to make sure the gallery is open. Telephone number:  01752 585050
In order to submit work you have to be a current member of the RPS each photographer may submit up to 4 prints in colour or black and white, the work should be mounted and backed. The frame size is 400mm x 500mm. We have made provision for some square prints and the frame size is 500mm X 500mm. These frames are limited.
The final date to get the work in is the 1st October. You can bring work to the RPS South West Region events, or make arrangements to get the work to any of the following people. There is no charge for entry but you are responsible for the delivery and collection of the work. We have worked hard to get this event on and your support will be appreciated. After all it is your region, we are all image-makers and we need to show case the strength of workers in the South West.
