Thames Valley
What We Do
Thames Valley is one of the large regions in terms of membership. Every month we gain 10-15 new members, and we lose some from moves and retirements. New members receive a welcome letter from the regional organiser.
The regional organiser is responsible to Council for delivering Society activities at regional level. A regional treasurer and committee members are critical to this process.
The regional organiser is available to deal with any enquiries about the Society and its administration. Members may also feed in comments for the Advisory Board, which meets every six months.
Newsletters are sent to members three times a year. Our web site content is maintained continuously and is always up to date.
Our meetings, like all those of the Society, are open to members from any region, and to non-members. There is a limit on how many meetings we can hold per year. We regularly run two distinctions advisory days, and one print exhibition / lecture. Typically 50-60 people attend at these meetings. We also run a Fellowship advisory day. A list of suggested outings is published each year. We have a public presence at the Bucks County Show in August.
The demand for distinctions advice is high, and usually fills our capacity.
Information about our activities is circulated from time to time to camera clubs and colleges in the region.
